Rabbit Hutch Accessories Your Pet Might Need

Once you get a rabbit hutch for your bunny, the time will come to shop for rabbit accessories to make your hutch as comfortable as possible for your bunny. The problem is that there are so many items that may catch your eyes, all sold as must-have items for your rabbit. Which should you buy and which should you ignore?

This post will help you see which items are really necessary for the welfare of your rabbit and which items will likely be a waste of money. The truth is that you don’t need every rabbit toy or accessory on the market, and neither does your pet. One of the best examples of what I see as a useless item are the variety of rabbit clothes that are on sale in virtually every pet store.

Rabbits do not need clothes. They have a thick, natural, fur that is quite enough. Unless you’re looking to take pictures of your rabbit dressed in cute vests and boots,  there is really no need for any of these rabbit clothes. What you bunny really need is just a comfortable home, treats, toys, and  proper rabbit food.

The rabbit hutch accessories your pet really needs to have begin with a comfortable rabbit bed. Your bunny must have a comfortable place to sleep in. Don’t think that you can make a rabbit bed by sticking a few pieces of straw in a pile. You can get a well made bed for a few dollars. It’s worth it.

One more item that will make life better for your pet and for you too is a dropping pan. This isn’t just more sanitary, but also makes it easier to clean. Remember, a rabbit can be trained to go to the bathroom in one area of its home, so a dropping pan can be a great addition to any hutch or rabbit cage.

You should also make sure to give your pet a variety of rabbit toys. Rabbits are playful creatures so this is very important. One excellent and cheap rabbit toy is the Peter’s Woven Grass Play Ball, but there are plenty more. You should make sure that any toy you buy is safe for your pet to chew on.

Now that you have all the rabbit accessories in your pet’s hutch, it’s time to just have fun with your new, small friend.
